Majied Qasem is the Co-Founder of d1g.com, a leading regional portal focused on providing a range of media-rich and socially enabled services.
Since its inception in April 2007, d1g has become one of the fastest growing portals in the Middle East North Africa region.
Prior to d1g.com, Majied was the Director of the Jordan Education Initiative (JEI) focusing on creating a replicable model for Education Reform through Public Private Partnerships. Under the JEI, Majied worked with the government of Jordan, the World Economic Forum, and Program Partners to ensure that innovative technology models for education aimed at accelerating and supporting the national Education Reform are initiated, implemented, and successfully replicated in other countries.
While with the JEI Majied developed, built and advanced corporate responsibility strategies, ensuring effective engagement and building one of the most successful public private partnerships in the Middle East. Through the JEI Majied ensured the regular engagement of over 160 entities from the private and public sectors, focusing on leveraging the core competencies of each entity to ensure a viable and valuable partnership for development.Majied is committed to the development of the Jordanian Knowledge workforce. In 2000 he was part of the group of Jordanian industry leaders that founded the Information and Technology Association of Jordan (Intaj) to drive the development of IT the sector. And in 2002 Majied helped found Injaz, a Jordanian NGO focused on youth development in Jordan.
Majied served on the board of both Injaz and Intaj until 2007.Majied is also the Founder and Managing Director of RAZORView Advisors. Under RAZORView Majied has worked with a number of regional firms providing them with strategic advice and support in the areas of Investments and concept development. He has particular expertise in ensuring effective corporate governance frameworks are in place for effective reporting and management of long term strategies and projects.
Majied was a key player in ONEWORLD Solutions, where he worked with leading North American and European clients such as 3Com, Microsoft, Kyocera, and Thomson Financial. During his 5 years at ONEWORLD Majied helped manage the organization’s growth from 2 people to more than 300 people in 5 offices around the world.In 1996, Majied co-founded Arabia.com, the first regional portal in MENA. Arabia quickly grew to be the largest Arabic community that same year, and was partially acquired by Prince Waleed bin Talal in 1998.
While at Arabia, Majied grew the first web development community to develop the most vibrant Arabic community online.Majied currently serves on the board of Optimiza, the first publicly traded technology-company in the Levant and the GCC with more than 400 technology professionals and more than $30m in revenue for 2007.
Majied is responsible for advising the firm of their technology direction.
